Research Dissemination

The British Nutrition Foundation has extensive experience and unique strengths in managing collaborations across academia, healthcare, education, communication and the food sector. With a proven track record of successful research partnerships, we are well positioned to understand the diverse nutrition challenges facing different sectors and to identify opportunities for sharing research that can improve public health.

Our established networks and convening power enable us to meaningfully engage with stakeholders to enhance both the reach and impact of your work. We actively disseminate evidence-based nutrition science through a range of channels, including social and traditional media, education initiatives and stakeholder engagement activities.

We also publish research in our highly regarded, international peer-reviewed journal, Nutrition Bulletin (Impact Factor: 3.6 (2024 Clarivate)) that provides a global interface between stakeholders in universities, industry, government, research, healthcare, education and the media.

Webinars

Webinars are a powerful way to interact with relevant stakeholders, share research findings; highlight why a study is important from a public health perspective and introduce a diverse audience to new work.

The British Nutrition Foundation’s webinars – typically free to attend and scheduled at lunchtimes to attract a large, diverse and global audience, with registrations ranging from 500 to 2,000.

Webinars provide a valuable resource for academics, researchers, professionals in the food industry, public health and wellness sectors, students and interested members of the public. Importantly, the impact of these webinars can be evaluated through measures such as attendance, delegate profiles, perceived usefulness, knowledge gained and Net Promoter Scores.

Roundtables and Forums

Through our extensive networks, we convene stakeholder roundtables with invited expert speakers to stimulate lateral thinking, explore emerging fields of research, and share diverse perspectives.

These events provide a platform to highlight the importance of research, assess opinions on key issues and identify attitudes, opportunities and barriers to progress.

The outcomes of these discussions are captured in thought-leading summaries, briefing notes, or consensus documents, which can be submitted to Nutrition Bulletin for wider dissemination and impact.

Science & Research FAQs

The British Nutrition Foundation has a strong track record of working in partnership across all stages of research, from shaping initial concepts and aligning outcomes with dietary public health priorities, through to dissemination and stakeholder engagement. We can help extend the impact of your research.

With strong networks, resources and expertise, we bring a unique perspective that can strengthen the impact potential of your project. We connect with a wide range of stakeholders, including actors across the food chain – from producers and manufacturers to policymakers, educators, and consumers – helping to ensure your research reaches those who can use it to create meaningful change.

We collaborate with researchers to design tailored programmes or work packages – as partners or sub-contractors - that support participation, dissemination, and engagement activities. These can include focus groups, roundtables, webinars, blog posts, policy briefings, thought leadership, and insight articles – all aimed at communicating your research to the stakeholders and beneficiaries who matter most.

We are experienced, well-connected and committed to supporting impactful nutrition research. Please contact us to discuss how we can contribute to your work.

Each research partnership we develop is unique, so there is no ‘one-size-fits-all’ costed package. Instead, we work collaboratively to identify how the British Nutrition Foundation can best support participation, dissemination and engagement, and develop a tailored work package to suit your needs.

These packages typically start from around £10,000, with dissemination programmes often representing 5–10% of the total research grant budget. We also deliver more comprehensive work packages where the Foundation contributes to project design, evidence reviews, data collection, and analysis.

We’re always keen to explore new partnerships, so please do get in touch to discuss your project needs and budget.

If you are interested in exploring a research partnership with the Foundation, please contact us at research@nutrition.org.uk.

We would be happy to arrange an initial call with Sara Stanner (Science Director) and Ayela Spiro (Nutrition Science Manager) to discuss your specific needs.
